My daughter has never played volleyball before, is that okay?
Definitely! Especially for the younger age group, we tend to evaluate athleticism and potential. However, we do not overlook the skill factor in the younger age groups.
Does San Gabriel Elite only have travel teams?
That would be absolutely INCORRECT! We will have non travel and travel
teams from the 12s to the 18s. We welcome everyone to tryout!
My daughter did not play for San Gabriel Volleyball Club, does
she have a chance to make a team?
ABSOLUTELY! We do not offer spots prior to the beginning of any tryout.
Everyone has a fair chance to make the teams at our San Gabriel Elite
Volleyball Club. Although some clubs offer spots at clinics and
etc....., we do not condone or practice such behaviors contrary to SCVA
rules. We are a firm supporter of the new SCVA rule.
Do I have to attend all the tryouts to be considered for a team?
No, you only have to attend one tryout session to be considered for a team. However, we may ask you to come back for a second evaluation. For your second tryout, you do not have to pay an additional fee. Unfortunately, you only get one tee shirt.
When will we find out about the tryout result?
You will find out either by phone call or email within a week. We
will do our best to contact you as soon as possible. Please make sure to
print clearly on the tryout application and place cell phone numbers as
well. If you are going to inquire about the result for any reason,
please do so by email. Email is a 24/7 form of communication. Email
ksmukai@earthlink.net.
If I am 13, 15 or 17 am I just eligible to play in those divisions?
No, you can play both 13/14, 15/16 or 17/18. If your date of birth if on or after the cut-off, you are eligible for both age divisions.
I am trying out at another club and the tryout times conflict? or I cannot make any of the tryout dates, do I have any options?
Yes, please email us and let us know! We can make other arrangements. ksmukai@earthlink.net
What does the non-travel fee include?
The non travel fee includes registration, insurance, uniforms, practices, and tournaments (Qualifier for divisions, Mandatory tournaments, and Regionals). If the team elects to play in a National Qualifier, there will be an additional charge for that tournament.
What does the travel fee include?

All hotel, van, airfare, and tournament fees are included in the fees*.
